Introduction
Just another month and we're going to London! You all know London: from the Big Ben to the Towerbridge. This year you have the unique oppurtunity to get to know London better in four days. Not only in all its famous places, but you will start an exciting journey through London in search for mysterious monuments and interesting shops. You will chase the Royal Family and you can relax in all London's parcs. This time the teachers will watch you passively and you're going to do all the work to make this trip unforgettable!

The Task
You are going to divide the class into 4 groups of 4 persons. Each group is responsible for one day. This means that every group chooses one theme for one day. For this day you are going to make a suitable day program with information dealing with one of the following themes:
- The Royal family (day 1)
- Statues of famous persons in British history in London (day 2)
- Shopping in London (day 3)
- Parcs in London (day 4)
Each group has to make within 3 weeks:
- make a program for the day containing:
- General information about the chosen theme.
- The activities for that day: which locations (these locations must have connections with the theme!) in London to visit and what activities to do there.
- Detailed information about the London Public Transport in order how to get to the locations.
Goal:
At the end, all those day programs are going to be bundled together into one complete program for 4 days staying in London. Every one in the class will get a complete program to London during our trip. Remember making a day program with your group, the rest of your class will use your information! Please make sure your day program will be clear enough and useful for everybody. Do your best!

The Process
WEEK 1
Form 4 groups of 4 persons. Once you've formed groups, start choosing one 1 theme out of the 4 other themes for one of the 4 days being in London. Tell your teacher which theme your group has chosen:
- Shopping in London
- Parcs in London
- Statues of famous persons in British History in London
- The Royal Family
Divide tasks:
Royal Family: Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, some museums
Shopping: Harrods, Oxford Street, Regent's Street
Parcs: Hide Parc, St James Parc
Statues: You can find them in parcs, at museums, churches and palaces!
- 1 person is going to find out how to get with the London Public Transport (bus, train, tube) from the youth hostel to the locations. Make sure you give clear information (when to change lines, departure times, etc.) !
- 2 persons are going to complete the programm for the day. You will give some general information about your chosen theme on a 1 A4-format. Complete the programm for the day by adding the information of the other 2 persons;
Don't forget:
- mentioning when to leave the youth hostel, arrival at the chosen locations, breaks, when to return to the youth hostel.
- the information about the London Public Transport!
- mention the locations chosen and what activities your classmates are going to do there (add the puzzles, question, questionnaires)
- a nice lay-out
WEEK 1
Now you have divided tasks, you can start working. Especially the Internet will help you to find the information you need for your tasks. So, start searching for information at the Internet. Use the resources! Select which information you can use for your tasks.
WEEK 2
Work on the tasks using the information found in week 1. Use your information found on the Internet! Make sure you don't forget to do your tasks properly. Please don't forget anything and be complete! If you have further questions how to do your tasks, ask me. I'll be just around somewhere in school.
WEEK 4
Finish the tasks and hand your work in at the teacher (Deadline = Friday!!). Please check if you have finished all your tasks.
Goodluck!

Until this year you were the one who made the program. Which is a book of detailed information about when you where to go where, who to get there, with which line and make an activity when they where at location for the student. But never before you defided the trip-day in themes.
With this task they will have to learn to work together and share the responsibility of the booklet, which is the produced at the end.
We used a imaginary class consisting of 16 pupils. That is why we refer to 4 groups of 4. When your class is more than 16 pupils, you have think of how to divide up the class.
This webquest is suitable for havo/vwo 3, especially when you're planning a trip for 4 days to London.
The tasks are not that difficult and we hope you are able to operate this webquest with your pupils.
Enjoy it!
